Pride Month with The Gay Donut!

Well, June has come and gone which means that we made it through Pride Month! While we're proud to be Queer All Year, our Gay Donut was busyyy as the unofficial Pride dessert of New York City. Here are some re-caps:

Read that again. Can you even imagine that many Pride desserts?! We couldn't, that's for sure. But with the help of our awesome assistants and the graciousness of our clients, we were able to pull it off without a hitch.

When we first went into June, we had an internal goal of booking 25 events throughout the month. Little did we know the whirlwind ahead. We're so excited to have expanded our BITE fam beyond our goals and have our mini donuts at over 100 Pride events throughout June!

We said at the beginning of the month that we would be donating 10% of our proceeds for the month to The Ali Forney Center, which protects LGBTQIA+ youths in New York City from homelessness. With all of your support, we were able to donate $2,000 for this important organization! According to their website, that keeps 2 youths experiencing homelessness off the streets for 1 month. It's also enough to feed 20 homeless young people for 1 month, offering them 3 nutritious meals a day.

Again, we are QUEER ALL YEAR, honey! Don't hesitate to support a lil queer owned donut business any time, as well as supporting other queer-owned companies, learning about the importance of Black Trans lives in our liberation, and rioting for those whose freedoms are oppressed (these days, there is a lot of rioting to do). Our Gay Donut isn't going anywhere. We're excited to now raise funds with Bakers Against Racism for the National Network of Abortion Funds. Order yours here.
